What could be more beneficial to body, mind and soul than to be welcomed home on furlough from a long, grueling combat training or tour of duty? However this is not the reality for many Haredi lone soldiers.

Many recruits have come to Israel from abroad and are totally alone. For others, simply their recruitment into the IDF is sufficient cause not to be welcomed home by their parents. Either way, these young men need a place to call home away from the military.

The dorm manager employed by the Organization is responsible for maintaining the lone soldier apartments run by the Organization. The Organization leases these apartments for soldiers who cannot live at home, usually because of their haredi families’ objections to their IDF enlistment.
