After seven months of training at the Kfir Brigade base, soldiers of the March 2026 cohort of the Haredi battalion Netzach Yehuda completed their course this morning. They will now join the battalion’s combat forces currently operating in Lebanon.
David, a soldier in the battalion from Jerusalem, finished the training alongside his family. “I feel an immense privilege to defend the people of Israel, especially now,” he said.
Many family members came to stand with the soldiers. Sarah, the mother of one of the soldiers, said proudly: “I have one son in the army and one in yeshiva. Each one protects the other in his own way, and I’m very proud of him.”
Rabbi Shaul Abdiel, one of the rabbis of Shomer Yisrael, opened the march with the sounding of the shofar and a call for mutual strength and support among the soldiers. He said the soldiers reached the finish line in high spirits and determined to take their place in defending the country. “The soldiers of this company are full of motivation and spirit, combining prayer, Torah, joy, and a drive rooted in holiness. It is a privilege to serve in the Netzach Yehuda Battalion, to serve with both the book and the sword, and to be faithful emissaries of the people of Israel while holding fast to the values they were raised on.”
Rabbi Adir Almoshnino, also one of the organization’s rabbis, said: “In the current cohort, dozens of soldiers come from Netzach’s pre-military academies, and we see on the ground the high caliber they bring with them after a meaningful period of spiritual and physical preparation for the army.”
Shomer Yisrael plans to strengthen and expand its network of pre-military academies so that the young Haredi men who choose to enlist arrive as well-prepared and values-driven as possible.
Shomer Yisrael – the National Association for Haredi Service, working together with the Netzach Yehuda organization – was founded in 1999 by Haredi rabbis in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the IDF. It accompanies Haredi soldiers before, during and after their service, through rabbinic and spiritual guidance, homes for lone soldiers, pre-military academies and hesder yeshivot, and programs for veterans.
